Right now, my commute is about 30 minutes, which barely gives me enough time to listen to the BBC and a little bit of NPR/PRI.
Once you've heard "Marketplace," "The California Report," "Day to Day," "Europe Today," "Analysis," "From Our Own Correspondent", etc. etc., how could you ever give up the commute?!?!

Re: I **LOVE** commuting...
Tue, October 28, 2003 - 4:50 PMYou listen to pretty much whatever you want all day. Why do you need to do that in a car??? -

Re: I **LOVE** commuting...
Tue, November 4, 2003 - 12:21 PMBecause I don't know how to sit still and just listen to the radio when I'm at home or at work. It takes being in a car with the world going by for me to be able to listen to a show like "Marketplace" without heading off to go fix something...
Upshot is when I'm at home or at work, I listen to music while I do other things, whereas I listen to discussions while I'm in the car. (That's another reason I'm not a huge fan of carpooling; friends and passengers just talk right over all the _interesting_ stuff with their drivel; much like tryng to watch a football game at a party, it doesn't work!)
Epiphany: I guess commuting is _my_ Alone TimeĀ®.
